So… Microsoft are finally stopping support for their fabled (but 13 year old) XP system.
Windows XP was Microsoft’s most successful OS, bringing usability and productivity to the masses. Yet, in a bid to modernise and progress to a bigger and brighter future, it is shutting down support for XP on the 8th April, 2014.
In laymans terms, this means that any PC running XP after the 8th April, 2014 will become more prone to cyber attacks, including viruses, hacking and other infections. Microsoft will no longer provide security updates to tackle these threats and those running XP with infections will be forced to have their machines repaired professionally. This is an expensive and risky option and we are urging customers to upgrade to a later version of Windows as soon as possible.
At the Sevenoaks Computers workshop on London Road, we can ensure that this migration is as pain-free as possible. By taking your machine and upgrading it’s operating system, you are not only safe guarding your machine from cyber-criminals, but you will be modernising your system at the same time. We will ensure that all of your personal data is safe and secure, and will guide you through the process of using your new computer once the upgrade is finished.
